The Holiday of Your Dreams
Jandia, the peninsula at the southern end of Fuerteventura includes the
resorts of Costa Calma, Playas de Jandia as well as the port of Morro Jable
and many smaller resorts. Deposits of sand on this section of coastline have
created some of the best beaches in the world. The soft sands surrounding the
complex are made for relaxing whilst the more exposed coastlines are buffeted
by a lively onshore breeze ideal for the surf, making it a surfers' delight. Also
here is Pico de Zarza, the highest point on Fuerteventura.
Travelling to Jandia
There are many flights to Fuerteventura from UK airports with deals available.
Most populated parts of Jandia can be reached in less than an hour from
Fuerteventura airport. It used to take a little over an hour to reach Morro Jable,
but the opening of a new motorway has reduced the journey time by around ten
minutes.
Jandia Bars and Restaurants
The complex is very popular with German tourists and this is reflected in the
high percentage of German owned restaurants and bars. There are, of
course, many Spanish owned bars, cafe and restaurants and quite a few British,
as well as others belonging to other nationalities. There is therefore something
for every taste.
Activities
For the more active, the beach is ideal for wind-surfing. Other activities include
sea fishing trips, ferry trips to other islands, golfing, cycling, trikes, motocross,
jogging, parks and walking. For the less active there are loungers available on
the beach for hire so you can relax or you could just wander along browsing the
many craft shops or rest in one of the many cafe available.
